Vikings
The Vikings were the Scandinavian sea-borne raiders of the early medieval period. The homelands of the Vikings were from Scandinavia. The Vikings created a trade network that connected Scandanivia to River Volga, Istanbul, Dublin, Newfoundland, Greenland, and the North Cape. The Vikings conquered and raided Britain, Ireland, and other parts of western Europe. The Vikings were so feared because their attacks were swift and savage. Europeans lived in terror of Viking raids. The Vikings were also feared because they had versatile ships to invade many areas of Europe. The presence of the Vikings led to many changes. The Vikings were great traders, not seeing trade and plunder as mutually exclusive, and combining these activities according to what the situation dictated or allowed. As a result, they opened up trade routes, which helped start a revival of Europe's economy. (Look At The Map Below For Invasion Routes).
